Standing in front of the bathroom mirror in our prefabricated flat. / In the reflection, I notice a wound above my eyebrows. / On closer inspection, I can see the skull bone. / I pull a white candle out of my forehead. / This is East Germany in the 1990s. / During violent times I am about to come out. / From now on, I keep dreaming & dream images come to light. / Sometimes I send printouts by post. / In response a sculptor friend from the US sends a picture / Of chalk markings & illegible symbols on a green school blackboard. / A friend from Switzerland replies with sled dogs from Greenland / Playing in the snow in front of their kennels. / After a while, another friend tells me about her memory / Of a white glass marble.
